Safeguarding

Intro text

The Stewards’ Trust is committed to the safeguarding of children and adults with care and support needs and ensuring their well-being.  We want to be excellent at looking after individuals, acknowledging the image of God in each one and providing the highest level of care we can.

We want to prevent harm (physical, sexual, psychological, financial, neglectful, discrimination) happening to those in our care and to report any such harm or abuse that we discover or suspect.

We undertake to exercise proper care in the selection, appointment and training of those who work with children and adults with care and support needs.

We believe every child should be valued, safe and happy.  We endeavour to make sure the children we work with know this and are empowered to tell us if they are experiencing harm.

We want to support all those affected by abuse and point them towards high quality care and relevant resources.

We hold to the truth that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and we are committed to growing and maintaining an open and welcoming culture of excellent care and healthy challenge.
