Burford Day of Encouragement
Living under God’s Blessing: A look at some of Jesus’ beatitudes
We have great pleasure in inviting you to our second Day of Encouragement in Oxfordshire of Worship, Prayer and Teaching. We will be meeting in beautiful Burford Church with lunch in the nearby Warwick Hall.
We are particularly delighted that the Revd Alex Ross is coming as our speaker. Alex lives in Burford and in retirement helps out at Burford church. He became a Christian in 1969 and was ordained in 1975. Alex was vicar at various places and his last job was Saint James Church, Muswell Hill, London, where he served for 14 years. During retirement he did a couple of years as a tutor at Wycliffe Hall,Oxford. Alex reckons, as a vicar, he has had the best job in the world – being able to share about Jesus Christ. He is married to Lynne and he says they have had a wonderful life together. .
Coffee and biscuits will be available from 10am with a prompt start at 10.30am. Lunch is provided and the day will finish with a cup of tea at 4 pm. Do bring your own wine if you would like a glass with your lunch.
The £30 charge is simply to cover the day's expenses. We hope that no one will feel prevented from coming due to cost. Please contact Pamela King (07808 169895) to ask about assistance if finances are a problem. If you'd like to help someone who might otherwise be unable to come, please simply add your donation to your payment.
We would love you to join us so would encourage you to book as soon as you can.
