We made it! 52 ways to pray - one for each week of the year.

Has there ever been such a time as this? Has there ever been such a time as this...to pray?

When you are devoted to something, it means you give (devote) a lot of time to it, because it is very valuable and important to you.

Lent is often considered a time to give something up - though it can be a time, instead, to take something up, to start or do something.

He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said, "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

I like to begin my prayer time with praise, because we are told in Psalm 22, ‘God inhabits the praises of his people’. Praise clears away fear as I remind myself of His perfect love. Then, the prayer of declaration comes out of asking the Lord what is on His heart. 

I love God, and I love the simple things in life (Ed - explains why you marrried me!).  

I am not someone who operates in a habitual and disciplined way! My prayer life really comes to life in the early hours of the morning when I am often awake. I then find myself able to simply bask in God’s amazing love for me.

Cultivating a life of prayer is a journey I have been on for many years, yet prayer often remains a complete mystery to me. It is at the same time, both immensely comforting and totally bewildering.

Much of the time I am tempted to pray for things that I actually already have;

‘Father please bless me today’… God says He HAS blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Eph 1:3)
